The Journey Begins

Posted by

Things have begun to feel real around here!

Last week we received products from Bangalore, India. As those boxes arrived, so did hope.

When we collectively stood, with hands raised, whispering, then shouting, "choose me," we had no idea the extent we were going to be used. As a team we are humbled and inspired, excited and expectant. Hope Products isn't simply a company stepping into a noisy commerce stream, we are a company seeking to make a difference in an often hopeless world.

Our team has been processing all what's happened these past 10 months and to be completely honest, we are overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed that we have been given the chance to be part of the cycle of hope in a world so desperate for it;

Overwhelmed that we get to use our creative gifts and talents to inspire products that will change lives, whether that be a woman in India or a missionary on the ground in China;

Overwhelmed at the prayers and support we have received.

It's our hope that this is the first of many, many chapters in a very long story of hope.

The words of Erwin McManus reflects our hearts in many, many ways as we take our next steps, hopeful steps. Each of our servants (yeah, that's what we call ourselves around here...no titles necessary when we're all just serving,) believe that we are part of a much bigger story, a story where we not only discover our own voices but the voices of those who have, for too long, been without a voice.

Where the Echoes Stop

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

Far past where sound has abandoned thought.

Where silence reigns over redundancy.

Where once well said is more than enough.

I want to stand when echoes stop.

Where words must be born to be heard.

Where speech is a gift and not a curse.

Where there is more of the unique and less of the mundane.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

Where meaning is rescued from noise.

Where conviction replaces thoughtless repetition.

Where what everyone is saying surrenders to what needs to be said.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

Where the shouting of the masses falls silent to the whisper of one...

Where the voice of the majority submits to the voice of reason...

Where "they" do not exist, but we do.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

Where substance overthrows the superficial...

Where courage conquers compliance and conformity...

Where words do not travel farther than the person who speaks them.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

Where I only say what I believe.

Where I only repeat what changes me.

Where empty worlds finally rest in peace.

I want to stand where echoes stop.

"Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10a)
